Friday 24th September sees the start of the third stage in the training of a group of paediatric nurses from four key children’s hospitals across Romania. This exercise will give the nurses additional in-depth training, a chance to visit a major appliance manufacturer and a chance to spend four days with a UK paediatric stoma care nurse observing the latest techniques in looking after neonates and very young children who have to undergo major abdominal stoma surgery.
Although Romania is well accomplished in this type of surgical intervention ROPSF was asked some while back whether the charity would be able to support training in the after care of babies and young children in this highly specialist area. An important secondary aspect is to support the parents through such worrying times. Having already undertaken two rounds of training under the auspices of ROPSF in Romania this third stage will bring the many learning points into practical reality.
This exercise has been made possible by a generous benefactor with additional support from several IA groups and other personal donations. If you feel that you can help with this vital work please activate the donation button and add your contribution.
